Pressure:
Just being in an opponents immediate space can sometimes be pressure enough to disrupt their decision-making process and cause them to commit errors that expose their defense.

Predictable:
Try to avoid always using the same move and becoming predictable as this will make a rhythmic pattern which your opponent will recognise and will easily be able to come up with a solution to counter your move.

Patterns:
Try to recognise patterns and rhythm's of your opponent as doing so will strengthen your ability to adapt, to anticipate, and to deal with a disadvantaged situation quickly.

Jumping:
Jumping is an effective defensive tactic for evading the A.I.'s attacks and can be used to help block profjectiles that have been thrown at you.

Health Recovery:
Consider using the 'Defense Up' item when you are getting hit early on and don't want to spend points on Health Recovery as it raises your defense so your lifebar does not decrease as much when you get hit.
