Tips for Second Mission:

It’s not a big issue. Later missions have ammo drop in
plentiful amounts, but even before then, your problem
consists of NOT doing 3 things:

* Using your pet for damage.
* Using attachable critters for damage, and they do lots.
* Using your melee weapon, which does tons of damage, especially
when charged, against anything that does not require engaging
at distance, like zombies who are slow and easy targets.

Compounding with 1 and 2, there are upgrades from the upgrade
stations that increase your pet gun damage, secondary damage,
and attached critter charges. There are plenty of ways to handle
enemies that don’t involve emptying your primary and secondary
mags only.
