Comprehensive Stair Guide:
--------------------------
Written by Diplopanda

There a couple ways that one might want to use when building custom
stairs (which you’ll have to do for certain circumstances if that’s
what you wish).

[Disclaimer!] The first way is easier than the second way, but mind
you both ways can be fiddly and take patience.

* The usage of platforms. Using the buildings that are lowered to the
desired (probably minimum height and raised up if that’s what you want).
Using multiple of these (two stacked directly on top of each other to
get rid of the merlon or railing effect) you can adjust each on directly
to try and shape your desired steps.

The second way is definitely more soul tearing and harder. This takes
much more patience and fiddling to get the desired look. Also may take
more from your computer!

* This method was originally introduced by Pew, and is done by using
the wall tool. By cutting the desired stair length into 2-3 brick wide
blocks you can get a flat top surface and adjusting each height and
positioning to hand craft your own steps.

* For this method I’d suggest sticking with flat rectangular stairs
while still trying to get the gist of it before trying a curved
staircase, and also try recolouring the wall before cutting them into
smaller chunks to get that flat look. (This saves you time in the long
run).

Quick Guide to Small Roof Extensions:
-------------------------------------
Written by Anneva.

I wanted to share a little technique I figured out while trying to see
how to get a bit of a sticking out roof piece, without the large block
of floor underneath it. This can only be used on small sections, but I
thought it looked great for a small porch or doorway roof.

Place a small building piece sticking out where you want the floating
porch roof. Draw path under the 3 exposed sides of the block. Nudge the
path closer and closer to wall to get the door flat against the original
wall. Play with the height of the arch to your desire.

If you want to use a placeable door, nudge the path even closer to the
main building until the door “sinks” behind the wall, then place a door.
If you want to adjust the door later, you just need to move the porch
piece away to access it.

If the “joins” where the two blocks intersect appear on the wall, you can
just adjust the positioning minutely and they disappear again. I also
thought it looked cute with two small wooden fence posts to look like
support.

The narrower the piece, the further away from the wall you can pull it
without support. And if you make it wider a column will spawn in the
middle, so you can combat this by bringing it closer to the wall. I
haven’t experimented with height yet. I’d love to see your results and
improvements to the technique!

With the door created by the path through the wall.

* With a placeable door made from a window dragged to the bottom. Sometimes
you just gotta keep fiddling with the dimensions a bit to make the front
column disappear!
* This what I mean about the “edges” that can show up where the blocks
intersect, just nudge it a bit and they disappear again.
* Adding wooden support columns.
* This is the widest I’ve managed to get it without a support column
popping up, the wider it is, the shallower it needs to be (the front
closer to the building).
