Unlock Gold Oar: Complete 5 different routes in the River Survival mode and then talk to Birdo in the plaza. Birdo will then ask you a question which you then need to choose Gold Oar instead of the Gold bar. Bonuses: Even though the game may have ended the victor is not decided until the bonus stars have been added. Picking up bonus stars for things like traveling the most spaces and winning the most mini-games can turn things around to your favour right at the very end when everything is totaled up. Lakitu: Although if you land on a tile that is populated by Lakitu he will steal some coins from one of your opponents it is recommended that you pay him the 30 coins he requires to go steal a star from one of them as well. Flutters Shop: Whenever you land on a tile that takes you to Flutter's shop you may want to consider taking advantage of it by spending some of the coins you have earned to help your current situation. Whether it's Dash or Golden Dash Mushroom to get to the next star first or a Poison Mushroom to prevent one of your opponents from picking up a star. Ally Tiles: Picking up as many allies as you are able to will help you dominate the board. Every time you land on an ally tile you will be able to add another member to your team, the advantage of this is that you will be able to choose to roll your allies dice every time you roll. The dice each character has is unique to that character and offers different benefits and drawbacks. This means having several allies with you will enable you to roll the dice for each of them giving you the opportunity to get across the board quicker. Surroundings: If you take the time to get familiar with the game boards you will gain an advantage over the competition as you will know beforehand the most effective methods of getting to where you need to go and how to avoid any danger along the way. If you don't have the time to explore the boards you can always zoom out on the board when it's your turn to get a bird's eye view of the board so you can plan your next move. |
